CourtAlert ECF Assurance™ is the only reliable method to assure that you have received an email for every change and every addition to a PACER case docket. The lack of this assurance recently cost a law firm client $40 million (details »).
Since the last week, when the appeal of this case was decided, CourtAlert has been receiving many orders and even more inquiries about this service. Allow us to answer the most frequently asked questions:
-
How does it work? As part of our patented technology, we retrieve the PACER dockets for cases that are assured and programatically compare it to the emails received from the Court. We will notify you if you did not receive an email on a new docket or, as in the case of the $40 million example, if the Court changed the docket and did not send an email. The notification can be done by several methods.
-
What do I need to do to implement ECF Assurance? The program can run on your server or on ours. The data is completely confidential. Your Information Technology Department's help is required; such IT assignment takes only a few minutes when the solution runs on CourtAlert servers. CourtAlert is a company of programmers, and we will enjoy speaking with your IT department
-
How much does it cost? - Less than $12 a month per case for District, Circuit and MDL cases. The cost for Bankruptcy cases is double. Most often, clients want us to electronically check cases once a week, which costs $2.75 weekly, or $143 yearly per case
-
Beware of imitations - only the patented CourtAlert Assurance service has proven itself over years of operation
-
Which cases get assured - CourtAlert Case Management system users can assure directly from case management. Others use an exclusive web site. You can assure every case for which you receive an ECF email - you can choose cases in particular courts, or only specified cases.
