President’s Day Court Closings 

On Monday, February 16, 2004 all courts will be closed.

Whenever the courts are closed it is still possible to file and retrieve court papers, as well as commence cases over the internet by means of electronic filing systems in some local area courts. The Federal SDNY and EDNY Courts, The SDNY and EDNY Bankruptcy Courts, and the State Supreme Courts in New York, Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties all have such systems. Just be sure to check the applicable rules and manuals regarding the proper use of these electronic filing systems.

Leap Year and Time Computation 

Attorneys are respectfully reminded that there are 29 days in February, 2004. This is significant where time computations are concerned.
