Independence Day Court Closings / New “Electronic Filing” registration forms for NYS Supreme

June 2, 2004

Dear Customer,

This e-mail is to give you an advance notice of the Courts closing. Independence Day, July 4, 2004, falls on a Sunday this year. In observance of the holiday, the courts will be closed on Monday, July 5th.

Access to the courts when they are closed is still possible through court websites and by means of electronic filing over the Internet. The individual court websites provide useful information about the courts and the electronic filing sites allows for the filing of documents and access to case files.

The Federal SDNY and EDNY Courts, the SDNY and EDNY Bankruptcy Courts, and the Supreme Courts in New York, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties all have various capabilities for commencing, filing and retrieving papers.

Please check the applicable rules and manuals for the procedures that must be followed in using any of these systems. For example, in the State Supreme Court electronic filing is only available in certain counties and for specific case types.

The registration forms for NYS Supreme Filing by Electronic Means have been changed; click here for the current forms.

In order to quickly and easily go to any of the court or electronic filing websites mentioned here, please go to www.CourtAlert.com and click onto Links at the top of the homepage.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.

We are committed to remain the best!

Thank You,
