CourtAlert will be demonstrating how to increase the value of your firm's case management system as a source of knowledge management and business development. Firms have long invested in docketing teams, centralized or distributed to reduce the risk of missing deadlines and to record filings. Docketing systems are essential to excellent knowledge management. 

There are two aspects of case mangement: how to calculate the deadlines and how (including how often) to communicate them to the attorneys. Too few deadline reminders, and the attorney may forget. If too many reminders are sent, then the docketing staff becomes intrusive.

Reliably Calculating Deadlines: Using real time rules: There are a number of automatic rules vendors and CourtAlert is integrated with two such vendors. We work with CalenderRules and CompuLaw to be able to use the rules directly from the rules vendor. It is beneficial as real time rule updates mean that deadlines are applied instantly, giving our customers peace of mind.
