Personal — Daniel F. Luciano was raised in the City of New York.  He was appointed to the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department in 1996 by Governor George E. Pataki. 

Judicial Positions — Prior to his service on the Appellate Division, Daniel F. Luciano was appointed as an Associate Justice of the Appellate Term in 1993.  Before that he was elected to the Supreme Court in 1982.  In 1991 he was appointed to preside over Guardianship Proceedings in Suffolk County.    

Government — Daniel F. Luciano was Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Islip from 1970 to 1982. 

Private Practice — Prior to his government and judicial service, Daniel F. Luciano practiced law and specialized in tort litigation, real property tax assessment certiorari and general practice. 

Military Service — Daniel F. Luciano served the United States Army in Europe.

Education — Justice Luciano obtained his law degree from Brooklyn Law School and graduated from Brooklyn College with a BA. 

Memberships — Justice Luciano is a member of the:  Alexander Hamilton Inn of Court; New York State Bar Association; Association of Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York; Advisory Council of the Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.
