Personal — A. Gail Prudenti was born in 1953. She began service as a Justice for the Appellate Division, Second Department in 2001. She is a Republican and was appointed by Governor George E. Pataki.
Judicial Positions — Prior to serving on the Appellate Division, the Honorable A. Gail Prudenti was a District Administrative Judge from 1999 to 2001. She was Acting Justice of the New York Supreme Court from 1996 to 2000 and Surrogate Court Judge in Suffolk County from 1995 to 2000. Justice Prudenti sat on the New York Supreme Court, Tenth Judicial District, from 1992 to 1994.
Private Practice - Before she started her judicial career, A. Gail Prudenti was in private practice from 1982 to 1991. She specialized in trusts and estates and was special counsel to the New York City Patrolmen's Benevolent Association's Widows and Orphans Fund.
