Personal —  Richard C. Wesley was born in 1949.  He was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 2003 by President George W. Bush. 

 

Judicial — Prior to his service for the Second Circuit, Richard C. Wesley was an Associate Judge for the New York Court of Appeals since 1997.  He was a Justice of the Appellate Division, Fourth Department from 1994 to 1997.  He was elected to the Supreme Court in the Seventh Judicial District in 1986 where he was appointed Supervising Judge of the Criminal Courts in 1991.

 

Private Practice — Judge Wesley was in private practice until 1986. 

 

Government — From 1979 to 1982 he was Assistant Counsel and Chief Legislative Aide to New York Assembly Minority Leader James L. Emery.  Judge Wesley was elected to the Assembly in 1982 and again in 1984.

 

Education — Richard C. Wesley graduated Cornell Law School with a JD in 1974.  He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Albany in 1971.
